JMDC Claims Database
The JMDC Claims Database is an epidemiological receipt database that has accumulated receipts (inpatient, outpatient, dispensing) and medical examination data received from multiple health insurance associations since 2005. The cumulative dataset is approximately 17 million subjects, and it is possible to follow the prevalence rate and incidence under a general population, including healthy individuals. Even if a subject transfers hospitals or uses multiple facilities, the data can be tracked. The database is used by major pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, life insurance companies, non-life insurance companies, government offices, and more than 50 universities in Japan.
Three Features
Database that allows complete count surveys
The data source is all members of multiple contracted health insurance associations, and complete count surveys are possible, including healthy people who have not received a receipt.
Real World Data
The JMDC data is from the actual medical treatment (real world) that combines the receipt, medical examination data, and ledger information. All claims received at the insurance medical institution are collected by the insurer, so even if a single patient visits multiple medical institutions, all the details of the medical treatment can be captured. In addition, the database holds all attribute information (excluding personal information) including for subjects who have not received a receipt from the ledger information.
Time series analysis on patient axis is possible
All receipt information is converted into data and can be tracked on a patient basis, so that the flow of consultation and treatment can be comprehensively understood.
